This is a highly rated Zagat property, 4 diamond, 31/2 stars from the Washingtonian. As our Pastry Chef you'd be responsible for working with the team to create seasonal, fresh, innovative cuisine. We need you if you will think outside the box, be organized, fast paced and eager to be creative. You will be responsible for the entire pastry department, ice creams, breads, breakfast breads, chocolates, pastry and desserts for dinner, and welcome pastries and cookies for our guests. We need experience in wedding cakes, chocolates, brioche, cookies and sweets.
This is not an entry level position and experience is required. As the pastry chef you will create your own menus, must have an understanding of ordering and food cost and be self-motivated. We use local and seasonal products, as well as our own herbs, vegetables, and orchard products. The pastry chef position is not for the novice, as we are a small team of passionate chefs, not a school. Experience is necessary, unless you are one of the magical few (and there are some) that have great skills because you are a natural. We love innovation and support our staff in their creative endeavors.
