BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Incumbent will exercise overall supervision of the Navy Club to include planning, programming, fiscal operations and food and beverage services for afloat and shore based personnel and their dependents.
Formulates current and long range club improvement plans.
Evaluates overall club management objectives, identifies most economical and efficient management practices and prepares directives, guides and other procedural releases for application by the department in administration, control and implementation of current and additional social and recreational activities and services.
Determines stock levels and initials procurement process for branch supplies, equipment and minor projects.
Ensures timely submission of all reports and summaries in accordance with current directives; responsible for compiling, preparation and submission of the branch annual budget including capital expenditures requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Incumbent must ensure that all personnel actions, i.e., are free of discrimination based on color, sex, age, religion, national origin, physical or mental handicap, political and sexual orientation, and any other handicap non-merit factors.
A Bachelor's Degree in Hotel Restaurant Management or related Hospitality Management Field OR a minimum of three years equivalent related experience. The ideal candidate is a team player with excellent communication and customer service skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and ability to handle high volume food sales.
Knowledge of sound business practices and management principles and techniques to include personnel management concepts, financial practices and administrative procedures are required.
Knowledge and ability to implement sanitation policies and regulations, personal hygiene standards and knowledge of physical conditions of club equipment.
Must have skill in problem analysis, establishing priorities, formulating plans, decision-making and the ability to take the initiative to suggest improvements to the MWR operations and improve the Club's services.
Skill in utilizing proper protocol and etiquette techniques to provide the best possible service to authorized patrons of the Club, that include higher echelon dignitaries, high ranking military and official civilian counterparts, junior officers and all Japanese military and civilian hosts.
Extensive knowledge in the food and beverage industry to include fine dining, catering, fast food, bulk resale and entertainment services.
Must be able to work nights, weekends, and rotating shifts.
Knowledge of computers and systems preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with superiors, peers and subordinates.
