Room Service Assistant Manager
Company Name:The Little Nell Hotel

Position Description:Position Summary
Manage the daily operations of room service while maintaining a high level of guest satisfaction. Keep in daily communication with Room Service Manager through department tools.

Essential Functions of the Job:

Enforce and comply with all policies and procedures of the Food and Beverage Department, The Little Nell and The Aspen Skiing Company

Control Labor costs: Monitor the Daily Flash Report and adjust staffing levels accordingly

Do Payroll, assist with scheduling and staff discipline

Responsible for the safety of staff and equipment

Supervise staff in their work, while maintaining high performance levels

Oversee table set-up, side duties and delivery times

Supervise the care of equipment, minimize waste, breakage and misuse

Do monthly inventories, recommend purchases to manager and ensure the accuracy of requisitions

Communicate with staff regularly. Take an active part in bi weekly staff meetings. Seek out staff opinion for improving operations

Train all new hires to five star standards

Ensure room service area is clean and maintained. Keep back of the house clean and organized

Maintain a high level of guest satisfaction. Make immediate corrective action when a guest's needs are not met

Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times. Ensure staff appearance and conduct is impeccable

Supervise the Mini Bar program: Reduce waste and suggest new products

Supervise the creation and delivery of interesting and attractive guest amenities

Demonstrate knowledge of safety and fire procedures. Assist in emergency and security procedures as directed by management and the established emergency plan

Enforce Local liquor and sanitation ordinances

Physical Requirements of the Position Include;

Ability to carry heavy loads (40-60 pounds)

Ability to pull heavy loads (300 pounds)

Standing, bending and stooping required

Education, Experience, Skills:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

3-4 years experience with Food and Beverage and at least 1 year supervisor experience

Basic knowledge of wine, food and cooking methods

Excellent organizational and telephone skills

Experience and ability to delegate and supervise effectively
Good command of the English language

McCormick credits his diverse culinary training and background in helping him find his own brand of cooking, which he describes as European-based food created with strict technique and a lot of soul. McCormick is also a firm believer in using and highlighting local ingredients, including farm-fresh meats, vegetables and cheeses.

The Little Nell's 20,000 bottle wine cellar has consistently earned Montagna the Wine Spectator Grand Award in recognition of our restaurant's deep passion for wine and the matching of the restaurant's delectable menu with each guest's taste.
