Our luxury property is currently looking for an Assistant Villard Restaurant Manager to join our team of professionals.
Our ideal candidate will be both poised, professional and work well in a fast-paced environment.
1.Be on the floor and accountable for opening and closing of the outlets. Assist in conducting departmental meetings. Ensure engineering and housekeeping issues are addressed promptly, and communicating pertinent information to the staff, such as house count and menu changes. Schedule and direct staff in their work assignments, the arrangement of small parties, pre-meal meetings, team members meal breaks, VIPs' specials, tabletop and facility cleanliness.
2.Interact positively with customers promoting hotel facilities and services, personalize their visit and to assess their overall satisfaction. Resolve problems to the satisfaction of involved parties. Answer telephones in a clear voice, coordinate and document reservations. Organize special events in outlets such as receptions. Maintain communication with all departments to ensure customer service needs are met.
3.Move throughout facility and kitchen areas to visually monitor and take action to ensure food quality and service standards are met. Verify temperatures, judge appearance and taste of products and check preparation methods to determine quality. Give guidance toward improvement and make necessary adjustments for consistency.
4.Maintain profitability of all outlets to support overall hotel operation. Control payroll and equipment costs (minimizing loss and misuse). Evaluate cost effectiveness of all aspects of operation.
5.Assist in managing systems and controls for beverage in the bar and restaurant. Establish par and take inventory on the liquor nightly. Develop pars for food and non-food items and ensure they are requisitioned as necessary.
6.Assist in scheduling, payroll, and training.
7.Assist in marketing the restaurant through mailings, promotion, and special events. Ensure food displays are creative, seasonal, and fresh.
1. Prior Food & Beverage management in a luxury hotel or restaurant, including services, policies and operations.
2. Union experience a plus but not required.
3. Knowledge of food and alcoholic beverages required.
4. Knowledge of food service techniques and cost controls such as manpower, productivity, food cost and other expenses.
5. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
6. Supervisory skills required.
