The Executive Chef will be responsible for menu planning, provisioning, food preparation, and galley sanitation. The position demands creativity on a daily basis, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain the highest of culinary standards.
Applicant should also work well under pressure, be organized, flexible, self-motivated, willing to work long hours, and have a great sense of humor. Supervisory experience would be beneficial as well.
Requirements include a minimum of 5 years full-service, high quality restaurant experience. Culinary degree or equivalent experience is also required.
Other pluses include, a positive mental attitude, well groomed, and an outgoing personality.
We are a 240 seat restaurant recently renovated after a fire tore through our attic causing catastrophic loss. The restaurant and product quality has gone through extensive improvements in our 26 years of business. Our menu and clientele demand high-end casual food at a quick pace. We take pride in providing fresh, seasonal ingredients, using local foods when available. We also have an extensive beer list and hold beer dinners regularly as well as on and off-premise catering. We have been open for a year and our Executive Chef is leaving due to a prior contract to open another restaurant in Austin, Texas. The objective is to find someone to work with him until he leaves at the end of July, then take over as Executive Chef. We are looking for a creative, energetic Chef that has experience dealing with employees, vendors, labor control, food cost control, and high volume.
