Head Baker

Position Description:Excellent opportunity to work with Pastry Shop at Sea Island, a Forbes Five Star/AAA Five Diamond resort, located on the coast of Georgia. Position will be responsible for creation of all bread and viennoiserie products for resort, including design and creation of all bread dough showpieces. Additional responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, meeting with restaurant chefs and/or managers regarding bread and baked goods orders, organizing daily function sheets, producing daily production schedules, scheduling production and deliveries to all food outlets, training bakers and apprentices, assisting with evaluating performance of staff, setting goals, building team morale, motivating and taking corrective actions, when necessary.

Qualified candidates will have prior experience as Lead or Head Baker in a luxury resort, hotel, or Artisan Bread Bakery, plus minimum of five years' experience in Baking & Pastry Arts. Ability to follow standardized recipes, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, proficiency with Windows XP and Microsoft applications, such as Word, Excel and Outlook. Flexibility to work any days/hours of the week, including weekends and holidays. Ability to easily adapt to organizational and environmental changes. Detail oriented and able to manage competing priorities and multiple deadlines in a fast paced environment.
