Position Description:ELM restaurant, by Chef Brian Lewis, named one of The Best New Restaurants in America for 2012, by Esquire Magazine, is seeking an additional talented and passionate Sous Chef to help lead his kitchen team, as we continue to grow our company.

Located one hour north of Manhattan, in the heart of Fairfield County, Connecticut, ELM features modern American cuisine, rooted in tradition and inspired by the seasons. Our daily changing menu relies upon a close network of small farms and artisan producers, sourced both locally and throughout America. Together, our food, wine, handcrafted cocktails and exceptional service embody luxury, comfort and small town charm.

Qualifications:
- A proven commitment to seasonality, elegance and attention to detail with all of your work.
- An exceptional and strong foundation in both classical and modern cooking techniques.
- Passionate about foraging, preserving, charcuterie, product sourcing and above all cooking with a tremendous amount of care and a love of our craft.
- Two years minimum experience as a Chef d' Partie or Sous Chef in a Michelin rated restaurant or a three star new york times rated restaurant.

Responsibilities
- This is a full time position, which entails daily pastry production and service, 5 days per week, which includes weekends and holidays.
- Oversight with our Sous Chef with various aspects of ordering, kitchen maintenance, hygiene, organization, team leading and staff supervision.
- Collaboration with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef on all menu development, including; charcuterie, tasting menus, lunch and off-site catering.
- Passionate development and involvement in building and nurturing our relationships with local farmers and the community.

This position has great long term potential to be an integral part of a the ground floor of our multi-restaurant vision, beginning with our signature flagship restaurant, elm.
