|Position Description:||Cook Restaurant Group, a multi-unit restaurant company based out of Coral Gables, Florida is searching for a General Manager for its current property in Coral Gables: Bread + Butter. |
Bread + Butter, lives at the forefront of Miami's unique culinary renaissance by fusing the carefree charm of Cuba's mambo era with the modish slant of the modern American gastropub.
Located in the heart of Coral Gables, the locale fits in well with the region's cultural fabric. The chalkboard wall along the entrance, which boasts vintage grayscale photographs and a handwritten excerpt of a rather famous Jose Marti poem, sits across from a bar area bolstered by reclaimed wood.
Together with the penchant for subway tile, exposed ceiling and DIY dangling light bulbs, it's an urban rustic genre mash of Little Havana kitsch and Brooklyn chic - not unlike the fusion son montuno you may hear blasting through the floor speakers.
As with any great restaurant, the decor is only the first course. While B+B's menu is anchored by stalwart Cuban dishes, it's also garnished by the kinds of twists that define intelligent kitchens.
Seeking a general manager to oversee operations at Bread + Butter in Coral Gables.
Core competencies include possessing the ability to direct and manage restaurant operations through a comprehensive skill set and hands-on approach for all areas related to the guest experience, as well as implementing detailed organizational procedures and protocols for staff selection, training, procurement, safety, sanitation, budgeting, inventory systems, cost management, point-of-sales, guest satisfaction, service recovery, internal marketing, staff education and P&L analysis. Candidate is also expected to possess exceptional communication skills and demonstrate motivational leadership at all times, while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and an ongoing commitment to excellence.
A minimum of 7 years of working experience in restaurant operations is ideal, with a minimum of 5 years in a management role. Experience in both high-volume and upper tier (e.g. Michelin-rated) restaurants is preferred, in addition to a background in wine, whether as a sommelier or having obtained a certificate level of wine education. A bachelor's level degree in hospitality management and/or M.B.A is required. Some level of culinary training or experience is preferred.
