Latitude 41 restaurant is seeking a strong chef driven candidate who can lead a talented team of cooks and junior managers to produce creative farm to table food for this established local eatery. The perfect individual will be able to sustain the strong reputation that the restaurant currently holds for it's fresh and modern cuisine. This individual should not only have a creative culinary edge, but should be a positive mentoring leader and someone who can handle the responsibility of being the main spokesperson for the restaurant in the community.
About Latitude 41:
The culinary concept for Latitude 41 is guided by chef Dean James Max of DJM restaurants, a James Beard recognized chef, who opened the restaurant over 6 years ago. This is one of the great modern concepts that makes up his DJM restaurant group (www.djmrestaurants.com).
Latitude 41 is a 120 seat upscale casual dining restaurant right in the center of downtown Columbus, Ohio. The restaurant has a 75 seat bar called Bar 41. The street feel concept is located in a hip Renaissance hotel and balances the best of both worlds when it comes to working with a great established company and operating with street restaurant style sensibilities. The focus is modern American cuisine with a weekly changing menu based around the best ingredients in the market. It is a well established restaurant with a loyal and very discerning clientele, and a fantastic reputation in the city.
The ideal candidate will be energetic, enthusiastic, and able to handle stressful situations. At least one experience, even if only as a cook, in luxury or fine dining establishment is absolutely essential. Candidates must have strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to effectively work with a diverse staff.
