A richly elegant Grand Cafe in the classic Parisian tradition - set in the iconic international style landmark MetLife Building at Grand Central Station on Park Avenue at E.45th Street - Cafe Centro offers a select menu of French favorites with a Mediterranean twist. Fresh seafood and raw bar specialties, grill selections and seasonal plats du jour are popular choices in this bustling bistro, which also offers a delicious business breakfast - the best-kept secret in Midtown!
An immediate opportunity exists for a proven restaurant professional with the ability to maintain our high standards of quality and guest satisfaction. We offer great opportunities to build and grow into a professional culinary expert while maintaining friendly and enjoyable work environments. The selected candidate will take leadership on influencing menu design while controlling costs and increasing profitability.
-Certificate or degree in Culinary preferred.
-A minimum of 5 years experience as Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef in a high volume, full service, fine dining restaurant.
-Knowledge of Italian cuisine and a passion for culinary arts and cooking.
-Impeccable service standards, clean work habits and attention to detail.
-Ability to multitask in a high volume kitchen while always maintaining your sense of humor and appearing calm.
-Professional demeanor & polished appearance with the ability to interact with all types of team members.
-Proven ability to lead a staff and positively influence employee behavior.
-Must have excellent verbal communication skills and have the ability to work a flexible schedule.
