Great things are still happening in the Big Easy since Hyatt Regency New Orleans opened its doors October 19, 2011. The hotel features 1,193 guest rooms including 95 suites, and 200,000 sq. ft. of meeting and exhibition space. The flexible event space included two 25,000 sq. ft. ballrooms - one with floor to ceiling windows, 80,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space, 64 versatile meeting rooms, and so much more. As the newest venue in the city where every occasion is a reason to celebrate and an incredible destination for groups a dynamic catering and convention services team will be essential to the hotel's success. We are looking for energetic and self-motivated individuals to be part of this exciting hotel and team. The Pastry Chef hires, trains, manages and coaches the pastry and baking team. The Pastry Chef provides a quality product that is timely, fresh and meets quantity needs of banquets and restaurants. The Chef will work directly with the Executive Chef to maintain and improve the culinary operation. He/She must be a liaison with all departments within the hotel. The Pastry Chef should have the skills and knowledge that include baking/pastry education, cost control, communication skills, training skills and knowledge of all pastry/baking related tasks, computer skills, organizational skills, guest contact and staff management knowledge.
