Purchasing and Receiving Supervisor
Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent required. Required: Minimum 2 year overall purchasing for food catering operation
-Premier Catering Company in search of a Purchasing Professional. Individual will work closely with Production Chefs and Executive Chefs. The ideal candidate will be a culinarian and have strong negotiating skills, sourcing abilities, creative problem solving, and sound business judgment and vendor management
Knowledge and Skills:
-Extensive product knowledge and sources of supply. -Proficiency office software (e.g., Excel, MS Word). -Purchases product from suppliers with the highest quality, reliability of source and urgency of needs, maintain continuity of inventory. -Successfully resolve problems with delivery receipt, supply, invoicing, rejections, etc. Verify vendor invoice reconciliations. -Must be organized and have strong communication and negotiation skills. -Working knowledge of Filemaker a plus
-Using existing inventory guide to keep correct par and order necessary items for events. -Utilizing purveyor sheets to acquire items for events in an orderly fashion. -Shelf to Sheet, by location, inventory sheets matching ordering sheets.
Continuing to keep relationships with existing vendors while outsourcing vendors for buying possible products at the best prices. -Keeping up to date price guides from vendors.
-Knowledge of proper storage practices. -Food handler's certificate. -Knowledge of H.A.C.C.P and storing receiving items correctly and safely. -Holding oneself accountable for improper storage of items. -Supervision of items received. -Assigning Event-Cost-Center to invoice
