Position Description:
The editorial team at StarChefs.com is looking for a recipe editing intern to help manage and publish our extensive collection of professional recipes. The ideal candidate is a web-savvy culinary school student or graduate with a writing/journalism background. You will need strong editing and research skills, an entrepreneurial spirit, a gregarious personality, and a drive for results.
You will be responsible for editing professional recipes and posting them online through our content management system. Along with editing responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to write short copy and head notes, promote recipes through social media, and help coordinate our weekly consumer recipe newsletter.
The recipes on StarChefs.com are submitted to us by chefs, pastry chefs, and mixologists from around the world, and the most successful candidate will know if a pastry chef forgot to include a step in an Italian meringue method, how whiskey is spelled when it follows bourbon and Scotch, and the standard method for incorporating xanthan gum into a liquid (or at least the research skills to figure it out).
Because we are a small company (25 employees), you have the opportunity to really make an impact on the company and the service we provide. Internships are for three to six months in our New York office and are unpaid. Internships can be eligible for college credit, and you will receive a letter of recommendation.
