|Position Description:||Full time sous chef position available at busy uptown Manhattan neighborhood restaurant starting immediately. There is opportunity here to move on the the Executive Chef position after 5 months.|
At least 2 years experience as a formally trained line cook preferred or culinary grad. NYC Food Protection Certificate mandatory or must be issued one within 6 weeks of starting position. Position entails working all stations in kitchen including hotline, sandwich station and high volume brunch station.
The restaurant specializes in eclectic comfort food, with emphasis on local produce and meats, with outstanding coffee, cocktail, craft beer, and wine lists.
Ability to work independently, strong knowledge of creative American cuisine as well as strong ability to follow direction from Executive Chef essential. You will have to be able to work well with others in a small but well equipped kitchen--ability to work under pressure essential.
