Research and Development Manager

Company Name:Sweet Street Desserts

This position requires candidates to have a US work permit. Please do not apply if you are not legally able to work in the United States.

Position Description:RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Sweet Street Desserts, founded in 1979 by Sandy Solmon and based in Reading, Pennsylvania, is widely recognized as the premiere innovator. After a number of years of strengthening our core business, we are entering a growth mode, a time during which we will focus on exciting brand expansion that will make the future of our world even sweeter. We are seeking a Research and Development Manager with unwavering commitment to innovation and quality.

We are Sweet Street and we harness pure imagination to create the greatest desserts you have ever tasted. The candidate will collaborate with our dynamic R&D team, to develop new product lines, extensions of product lines and a vast array of innovations in different forms.

Every dessert we create is the outcome of tireless exploration and obsessive perfectionism. It is imperative that all members of our R&D staff are committed and passionate, innovative and confident and take pride in knowing that these artful creations are shared by people in 54 countries around the globe.

Each of our R&D Chefs are true mavericks. They each must have extensive experience, highly developed skills and the ability to independently and collaboratively develop ideas, create formulas, define processes and then implement and fine tune the product for roll-out on the production floor.

While not undemanding and requiring responsibility to be available for off-shift roll-outs, our working schedule is primarily focused on weekdays . This is an opportunity to eliminate the steady evening and weekend schedule requirements of the restaurant world.

Our customers must always be able to feel that we are 100% invested in our desserts and their dessert projects so we continually conduct ourselves with the utmost integrity and hold ourselves to the highest standards regarding customer service: professional correspondence, precise documentation skills, attention to detail, proactive thinking and face-to-face visits.

Sweet Street Desserts stand at the center of life's favorite moments. We all truly believe it is an honor and privilege to share in these moments. We are seeking the unique and inspired chef who will share our passion and our vision on this journey.
