Chef/Assistant Manager University Housing & Dining Residential Dining

Responsibilities include scheduling, training, supervising and coordinating work of assigned culinary staff in the preparation and presentation of foods in a large-scale university food service operation, including the University?s Athletic Training Table. Assure standardization of recipes and consistency in preparation, portion control and presentation of foods. Actively participates in recipe development and menu planning.
A Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics, Foods and Nutrition, Institutional Management, Hotel and Restaurant Administration, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Reasonable (1-3 years) experience in preparation and distribution of foods utilizing the latest techniques and knowledge of trends; some (1 year minimum) experience in food service management, including supervising and inventory control; reasonable knowledge of computer software applications (i.e., Word, Excel and Outlook); excellent written and verbal communications skills; and ability to obtain and maintain ServSafe certification are required.
Salary starts at $37,965 to commensurate, plus excellent University benefits.
