Position Description:
The Brasserie Restaurant is currently accepting applications for the position of Pastry Cook / Pastry Assistant.
Please note that this is a junior position. We are most interested in candidates who are at the beginning of their careers, with roughly 2 years experience.
The Brasserie is a privately owned 80 seat fine dining restaurant with busy adjoining Market (upscale lunch space and coffee shop) on Grand Cayman Island. It is a well established restaurant with a very loyal and discerning clientele. The Brasserie enjoys a fantastic reputation on the island. It features a recently built state-of-the-art exhibition kitchen and an adjacent organic garden.
The Pastry Cook / Pastry Assistant will report to the Pastry Chef and will assist with pastry preparation, production and dessert plating during service. They will also be required to maintain a safe, orderly and sanitized workspace.
The successful applicant will:
-Be a culinary school graduate; -Have previous fine dining pastry experience; -Be well organized and able to effectively manage their workspace; -Have excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks; -Be energetic, enthusiastic and able to work under pressure; -Be able to work cohesively with co-workers.
