Position Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
-Oversee daily activities in the area and delegate to staff in order to achieve daily objectives.
-Train staff on consistent products, recipes, new menus, and decorations.
-Attend daily banquet sheet meetings with Executive Chef and Sous Chef remaining aware of exact counts, times and rooms on hand.
-Monitor coolers and storage areas daily for ordering purposes and proper rotation of products.
-Ensure fair and consistent departmental rules and practices for employees.
-Reinforce safety standards and sanitation procedures to promote cleanliness and good hygiene.
-Create centerpieces and ideas for special occasion buffets and brunches.
-Plan daily work schedule for pantry so this area can prepare food products as needed.
-Attend training and departmental meetings and holds regular meetings with staff.
Qualifications:

Education/Experience: High School diploma and ACF Apprenticeship or culinary school graduate; eight to ten years experience with a minimum of two years in culinary management.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Accounting software; Inventory software; Payroll systems; Internet software and Order processing systems.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises approximately 25 culinary employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
