|Position Description:||Relais & Chateaux Property Seeking Line Cooks|
The Clifton Inn, a hotel and restaurant property located in the scenic Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia, is currently seeking cooks of all skill and experience. We are a 75 seat restaurant open for dinner and breakfast service seven days a week, and have banquet functions on-site throughout the entire year. We serve a unique tasting menu format for dinner, comprised of dishes that are constantly changing. On top of our locally-sourced meat and produce, the kitchen staff works in conjunction with a staff gardener to maintain multiple gardens on the property. Nearly everything we do is housemade, from daily prep of butter and cheese to larger projects such as charcuterie and butchery. Wild edibles are in abundance around the hotel?s 100 acres of property, and are used throughout our menu.
The cook position is responsible for maintaining a high standard of daily a la carte service requirements as well as assisting with banquet functions of all sizes ? oftentimes simultaneously. This is a position for young cooks that are looking to learn all aspects of restaurant and hotel life, as well as grow and take on projects for themselves to constantly raise the standards of service and organization. We require a sense of urgency, strong organizational skills, and above all else, a great attitude. You must have a sincere love for food and the restaurant business and must not be afraid to get your hands dirty while still maintaining a smile on your face.
