StarChefs.com is accepting applications for a Public Relations Internship for this year's StarChefs.com International Chefs Congress (ICC), StarChefs.com first annual Pastry Competition and New York Rising Star Gala (RS). We're looking for a dedicated, self-motivated, ambitious person with a great eye for detail and a keen sense of organization.
ICC and RS are some of the most important culinary events in the US, and you'll get to help make it all happen. Ideally, you'd start immediately and work through the end of September to get the full range of publicity planning and execution.
An internship at StarChefs.com is a substantive and challenging work experience. You will have the opportunity to develop and apply specific skills (i.e. research, writing, computer, pitching), as well as the opportunity to network with leading chefs while organizing our events. You'll be working on both inbound and outbound PR, establishing and maintaining press contacts, writing press releases, handling media requests, and of course, lots of great food.
Because we are a small company, you have the opportunity to really make an impact on the company and the service we provide. Internships are full-time for 3 months and are unpaid. Internships can be eligible for college credit. Last year, StarChefs hired on 3 of its interns for full-time employment. In order to benefit from an internship with us, you will need to be a self-starter capable of doing largely unsupervised work. You will need strong writing and research skills, professional phone/interpersonal skills, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a drive for results.
