StarChefs.com, the leading online magazine for the culinary industry, is now accepting applications for a food-savvy, hardworking, and - most importantly ? detail oriented Publicist to work on this exciting event for the three days (September 20-22) and the two months leading up to the Congress (part-time). We are seeking a dynamic and energetic self-starter with strong organizational and writing skills. This is a perfect opportunity for someone who wants to be immersed in the food industry, make high level contacts and grow with a company that is going places. To be successful in this position, you must already have experience and contacts in food media and restaurant industry.
Responsibilities include: +Write press releases and distribute to media contacts +Draft correspondence +Pitch press to attend and cover the event +Research media targets +Coordinate press interviews +Assemble press kits + Handle Press Pass requests
The main focus of this position is the International Chefs Congress, world-class culinary symposium will take place over three days in September in New York and feature seminars, a product fair, chef demonstrations and exclusive seminars. The Publicist will work with the editorial department, marketing and events managers to plan, organize, and oversee, press activity for the StarChefs.com International Chefs Congress.
The ideal candidate will have a high level of energy and work well both independently and as a part of a small, dedicated culinary magazine team. Knowledge and obsession of fine dining restaurants, food and wine a real plus--more of a requirement really.
