Just south of Market Street, this San Francisco convention center hotel is situated across the street from the Moscone Center, and steps away from the city?s top attractions, including the historical Cable Cars, world class shopping on Union Square and Westfield?s San Francisco Centre featuring Bloomingdale?s. Our guests enjoy magnificent views of downtown San Francisco from a number of the 1,498 luxurious guest rooms, including 136 distinct suites. With 100,000 sq. ft. of flexible meeting and banquet space, including 52 meeting rooms, the San Francisco Marriott is the premiere destination for both corporate and social events.
The successful Sr. Sous Chef candidate will be responsible for Mission Steakhouse, our upscale dinner steakhouse, reporting to the Executive Chef. This person will have an excellent understanding of and experience running the kitchen in addition to a passion for culinary trends. They must be a great cook and have 4 years management experience- preferrably as a Sous Chef or Exec. Sous. Must have excellent leadership/organizational skills, culinary graduate and ability to manage diverse associate population. HOTEL EXP OR SIMILAR EXP IN UPSCALE FREE STANDING STEAKHOUSE ENVIRONMENT IS PREFERRED.

Skills and Knowledge
*Ability to prepare and present meals utilizing culinary principles, standards, techniques and equipment (e.g., grilling, saut?ing, broiling, baking, using decorative food displays, following recipes).
*Knowledge of techniques and equipment for preparing and presenting food products (both plant and animal) for consumption, including storage/handling techniques and sanitation standards.
*The ability to come up with unusual or clever ideas about products, services or situations, or to develop creative ways to solve a problem.
*Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Education and Experience
4 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
*2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management.
