|Position Description:||Flora Farm is seeking a talented individual to join their team as CHEF DE CUISINE. We are looking for candidates who can work to very high standards and exceed our loyal client's expectations. |
Flora Farm is an organic farm located in the small town of Las Animas, San Jose Del Cabo, Baja, Mexico. On the farm we have Flora's Field Kitchen Restaurant, the Farm Bar, Flora's Grocery and Flora's To Go. We specialize in handmade food with our farm fresh ingredients. We grow organic produce and raise free-range pigs, chickens, goats and rabbits. We also operate a wood oven bakery and a butcher shop.
We are looking for a Chef de Cuisine who will embrace working in Mexico on our farm- using product from farm and ranch, as in the entire animal, and being able to create a menu that can highlight crops that we're producing. Must have a great palate, experience developing menu items, training staff and running a kitchen. Position takes a lot of energy and enthusiasm and has the following responsibilities.
The Chef de Cuisine will oversee the following onsite activities:
-Flora's Field Kitchen - A full service farm to table, restaurant serving 3 meals.
-Flora's To Go - A take-out or picnic eat-in food counter.
-Flora's Grocery - Selling bread, meats, produce, preserves, etc.
-Bakery - Delayed fermentation and naturally leavened bread from our brick oven. 1 Baker.
-Butcher Shop- Fresh cuts and meat curing. 1 Butcher.
-Catering/Events - Onsite food service for events.
-Cooking School - Onsite cooking classes.
-Private Chef Program - In home cooking program for Flora Farm Cottage Owners.
Candidates must fulfill the following REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 5 years culinary management experience.
Must have a true passion and respect for ingredient focused food.
Must have working knowledge of old world handmade food traditions.
Ability to collaborate on menu development and overall food program.
Extremely high quality standards and the ability to teach and maintain all aspects of operations.
Experience directly supervising 25 employees or more.
Ability to lead others and positively influence employee behavior with excellent verbal communication.
Exceptional organization skills.
Must speak English and Spanish.
Flora Farm is also looking for a front of house manager, so couples are being considered for these positions.
We offer compensation commensurate with experience.
