Munchery is looking for a culinary genius with exceptional leadership skills and an entrepreneurial spirit, who understands the ins and outs of a large-scale commercial kitchen, but strives to break free from it.
As City Culinary Manager, you will oversee menu development and food production for the NYC operation of our fast-growing, SF-based start-up. You will be responsible for crafting and executing a delightful home dining experience for both the discerning foodie and the casual eater in New York?s five boroughs and, eventually, beyond.
In this role, you will recruit and manage a team of top, local chefs, who can achieve the high standards of quality, creativity, cost management and safety that you set out for them.
- 25+ years in the culinary industry with a wide variety of experience at all levels of cuisine - 10+ years as an Executive Chef, Culinary Director, or similar - Deep knowledge about cuisine, preparation, ingredients sourcing, kitchen operations and food safety standard and procedures - Experience with large-scale food production (High-end retail, Catering Chef and/or Hotel background a plus) - Experience with budget management, in particular optimizing food costs

- Strong relationship management skills and the ability to work closely with other highly talented chefs and earn their respect - Strong leadership skills and the ability to keep your team on tight deadlines - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Extremely organized and detail oriented - Ability to identify patterns in data and consumer behavior and come up with scalable and effective solutions - Technological savvy, including proficiency in Google Docs - Expansive network in the NYC food community
