|Position Description:||COMO Hotels and Resorts are opening a new beach side hotel in Miami in February 2014. The 74-room property will be located in an original 1930's building in the historic Art Deco district, offering direct access to Miami's iconic South Beach.|
The Metropolitan by COMO, Miami Beach is now recruiting passionate individuals with a spirit for delivering excellent guest service.
Work as a Prep Cook within the kitchen team assisting and working with senior staff to achieve the highest possible quality and service for Met Miami guests.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare basic pastry items in kitchen and handle all production tasks
Prepares all pastry and bakery items
Preparation and execution of all assigned plate and food item, as well as station menu items.
Maintain a clean and safe work area adhering to food safety and health standards as well as company standards.
Always follow standard recipes to help with food cost and consistency of the food.
Focus on keeping a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas of the kitchen to reduce spoilage and incidents.
Complete tasks within a good time frame to reduce time spent on duty and tiredness.
Make sure that all equipment is in good working order and report any issues to the Pastry Chef in charge at that time.
Use equipment in a proper manner to reduce breakdowns and increase the life of the equipment.
Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, kneeling or crouching.
Must be able to reach overhead and below the knees; including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
Able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 30 pounds without assistance.
Demonstrate basic pastry techniques and knowledge.
Formal training at basic level Pastry and/or Baking highly preferred.
