Position Description:Now hiring Chefs: Current Culinary Students or Recent Grads! Kick your career off with this fantastic experience to plan your own meals, have full control over ordering, planning, plating and customer service.

Wilderness Place Lodge, Alaska - a 75 minute scenic float plane trip from Anchorage. We have a chef team of 2 to share kitchen and dining room operations.

More than just cooking! We offer a great opportunity for chefs who are interested in experiencing what it is like to run their own restaurant. Our chefs work together to plan, order and create each quality meal served to our 16 guests each day.

Our chef team is responsible for management of all food service operations. The chef team will also be responsible for cooking and presentation of all meals for guests and staff. Based on the preferences of the chef team, an efficient operational system will be established including employee safety, teamwork, safe food practices, food preparation, proper food storage, cleanliness, professionalism and presentation. Our chefs will also have the opportunity to order necessary items from local vendors, conduct kitchen logistics, learn budgeting techniques, etc. We offer much room for creativity and as owners simply oversee the kitchen operation to assure productivity and minimal stress.

Qualifications & Requirements:

-Must have culinary experience in the classroom and in the workplace
-Must have the ability to interact and work well with others
-Must be cooperative and open to suggestion
-Must be creative and willing to offer suggestions
-Must be positive, happy and enjoy their line of work
-Must have an appreciation for the out of doors and every experience remote Alaska offers
-Must have a knack for customer service, interacting with people, sharing stories, etc.
-Must be able to conduct kitchen operations in an efficient and professional manner
-Must be able to share the kitchen tasks to minimize workload
-Must be enthusiastic about a unique atmosphere that allows for growth and development in the field of culinary arts and restaurant management

Wilderness Place Lodge offers a unique opportunity for culinary art students to gain restaurant managerial experience, hone their gourmet cooking skills, polish their customer service skills and exercise their talents and creativity in an environment like none other. Our chefs earn good wages plus excellent tips and we include round-trip travel from your home to our lodge in Alaska.
Company Profile:Fly-in only, remote Alaska fly fishing lodge on famous Lake Creek. We are 70 miles NW of Anchorage by float plane. The main lodge is a 2300 square foot log building, with full kitchen, dining area, bar, lounge area and living room space. We have 6 guest cabins and host 15 fishermen at one time. Our guests come from around the world in seek of some of the finest salmon fishing and remote accommodations in the world.
