|Position Description:||COMO Hotels and Resorts are opening a new beach side hotel in Miami in January 2014. The 74-room property will be located in an original 1930's building in the historic Art Deco district, offering direct access to Miami's iconic South Beach.|
The Metropolitan by COMO, Miami Beach is now recruiting passionate individuals with a spirit for delivering excellent guest service.
Working Overnight as a line cook within the kitchen team to assist and work with senior staff and supervising junior staff to achieve high standards of quality and hygiene to meet the guest's expectations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
-Supervise and carry out the production of all dishes
-Check and prepare the required mise-en-place
-Supervise and instruct junior staff for development of the kitchen
-Ensure the proper handling and storage of food.
-Maintain a clean and safe work area adhering to food safety and health standards as well as company standards.
-Always follow standard recipes to aid with food cost and consistency of the product.
-Make sure that all equipment is in good working order and report any issues to the Chef in charge at that time.
-Assist in the weekly ordering, stock rotation and storage of produce to prolong the life and quality.
-Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, kneeling or crouching.
-Must be able to reach overhead and below the knees; including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
-Able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
-Years of experience required: 2-3 years in luxury hotel setting
