StarChefs.com is looking for an events coordinator to oversee its events including the Rising Stars Revue (RS) and different event components of the International Chefs Congress (ICC). We are looking for an events coordinator with restaurant, management and event experience.
This is a full-time, year-round position that requires great communication skills, a persistent determination to get the job done, serious multi-tasking abilities and an unwavering attention to detail. This position reports to the Events Director.
Familiarity with fine-dining, restaurant-caliber kitchen equipment, as well as chefs from around the world and their restaurants is a must. As an events coordinator, you will play a major role in the execution of some of the industry's most important and prestigious culinary events in the United States.
-Research potential RS venues and vendors. Manage event production and vendors leading up to and on-site at the event. -Oversee travel and hotel for each event. -Maintain clear and accurate budgets for all events and generate an internal event report at the conclusion of each event. -Secure purveyor (food & wine) donations on behalf of each Rising Star. -Manage relationships with all Rising Stars, venues, partners, vendors and publicists. -Manage event logistics including layout, shipment, rentals, equipment, and entertainment. -Work with StarChefs.com marketing team to ensure product placement at all events. -Work with StarChefs.com editorial team regarding all content including RS signage & magazine.
In addition, you will need to travel to plan events and attend trade shows and/or appropriate professional press conferences/events as necessary.
What we are looking for:
-2+ years event planning experience. -Experience in the culinary industry, preferably fine dining and back-of-house. -Management experience. -A college degree and preferably a culinary school degree as well. -A balance of energy and ability to remain calm during a very chaotic event and period of preparation for that event. -Great communication skills. -Experience working in a non-traditional small office environment. -Basic French and/or Spanish a plus.
