|Position Description:||A respected California hotel is seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to manage its full service bake shop and assist its culinary management team. This position demands a focused working chef who can maintain standards of food quality and presentation. Will be responsible for supervising the bakery production line in addition to other areas of the culinary operation. Prior experience, a friendly and approachable personality, and clear communication skills are all critical.|
The Pastry Chef is responsible for maintaining high culinary standards for a demanding clientele and must work in complete cooperation with other hotel departments. The position is also responsible for ordering, inventories, managing and maintaining storage and production areas according to code, and hiring the highest caliber staff to support the department. They must be able to manage appropriate labor and food costs to budget while ensuring a quality product.
-A culinary degree or a professional culinary certification.
-A minimum 3 years kitchen management experience.
-Team oriented, outgoing and friendly personality.
-Good speaking, written, arithmetic, and analytical skills.
-Working knowledge of Micros, Excel, Word & Outlook.
The Pastry Chef salary is competitive and depends on experience. Medical, Dental and Vision insurance and a 401(k) plan with a vested match are available.
