|Position Description:||Sweet Basil Restaurant in Vail, Colorado is searching for a talented pastry chef. Our kitchen is recognized as one of the best in the state and we are looking for a passionate and talented pastry chef to lead our dessert program and pastry department to the next level. We have recently opened a second restaurant, Mountain Standard, and the pastry chef is in complete charge of production for both restaurants. |
This is a very challenging and demanding position in a fast paced environment that requires creativity, passion, dedication, organization and a strong work ethic to be successful. The ideal candidate will have held similar positions or be an up an coming pastry chef who is ready to take the next step and become a star.
Responsibilities will include, but not limited to: complete menu development, training and mentoring of pastry staff, training of Front of House staff on all related pastry items, researching new products and techniques to be utilized in the department, and communication with Executive Chef on all aspects regarding the department. Our food style is ingredient driven with a focus on creative flavors and techniques. We are searching for a candidate that matches well with our philosophies and has the skills to perform at a very high level.
