Responsible for new product development and day-to-day operations of the pastry department of upscale gourmet food shops.
Position Requirements: - Formal culinary education/training required - culinary degree a plus - Minimum 5 years culinary work experience - Supervisory experience required - Knowledge of French and American pastries - Must be skilled in all areas of classical pastry and cake decorating including cake writing, rolling fondant and butter cream flower experience - Experience in cost analysis a plus - Menu development experience - Excellent communication skills, verbal and written - High energy, positive attitude, willingness to learn and grow - Shows leadership, initiative and creativity - Team player - Appreciation for a diverse, multi-cultural environment - Spanish speaking a plus
