Casanova Restaurant in Carmel, CA is on the lookout for keen people who would like to join our team. We are a seeking reliable, experienced, passionate Sous Chef to assist Executive Chef in managing top-quality food service for Monterey Bay's most romantic restaurant.
Qualifications: -3 years experience in a fine dining atmosphere, in a restaurant with more than 10 cooks
-Prior experience in a Sous Chef role
-French and Italian cooking background preferred
-Trains and develops kitchen staff preparation and presentation consistency
-Assists Executive Chef in maintaining daily food procurement and preparation system, including production sheets, order sheets, recipes and menus
-Maintains sanitation and safety standards at all times in work areas and during food handling, production, and storage (including food labeling) in accordance to applicable sanitation and safety regulations
-Working knowledge of professional cooking terminology, techniques and meal preparation procedures (e.g.: portion control, menu development)
