Sugar and Plumm, is a unique concept that is both culinary and retail focused. We are looking for a Sous Chef who has the ability to multitask, take ownership and lead!
Primary responsibilities will include the management of day to day operations with a major focus on all aspects affecting or relating to production of recipes and the menu. Duties will principally include but will not be limited to managing kitchen staff, driving consistency in recipe and menu execution, establishing and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, managing costs & inventory, and generally enforcing quality standards in all areas. Position will report directly to the Chef.
Daily duties and responsibilities will include:
-Opening/ Closing Procedures -Directing staff during business hours -Managing consistency of menu & recipe execution -Training -Establishing & maintaining productive purveyor relationships -Purchasing -Managing receiving and handling of deliveries -Managing inventory & costs -Assisting in recruitment and hiring of staff -Enforcing cleanliness standards and NYCDOH health code
Qualifications for this position include:
-Minimum of one to two years Sous Chef level experience -NYC Department of Health Certificate -The ability to be physically engaged in a high stress environment -Experience with inventory management and general management of cost control -NYC Department of Health Certificate
