Gather Restaurant, in downtown Berkeley, seeks an experienced, professional full-time Bar/Floor Manager. We are looking for a high-energy, passionate individual who can efficiently manage the operations and financials of the bar program. This management position also needs to effectively manage 3 floor shifts each week in the dining room.
Qualified candidates must possess the following skills and attributes:
Minimum 3 years management experience in a fast paced, fine dining restaurant Leadership
-Manage and mentor bar and floor staff for a team of 30 FOH employees
-Hire, train, supervise and evaluate staff in collaboration with GM
-Guide the direction, creativity, and financial success of the bar program Bar Experience
-Strong wine knowledge, especially California wines
-Passion for crafting seasonal cocktails and house-made infusions
-Interest in working with organic and sustainable ingredients and spirits
-Experience with Food and Wine pairings
Production and Admin
-Control product quality and production efficiency
-Manage beverage and labor costs, and hit targets consistently
-Maintain beverage ordering and organize inventory daily and monthly
-Oversee bar equipment maintenance
-Ensure bar is always impeccably organized and in compliance with health, safety and sanitation standards
-Strong collaboration and communication skills to work well with management and ownership
-Solid delegation skills to maintain an efficiently run bar and dining room
-Experience working with Aloha and Open Table is a big plus
