We are seeking an individual with a passion for chocolate, who will work under the supervision of our Chef/Chocolatier assisting them in creating delectable and eye appealing products for our diverse customer base. We have won our customer?s trust in the retail venue by producing uniquely flavored chocolate bars such as Strawberry Champagne, Jalapeno, and Peanut Butter and Jelly flavors as well as high end chocolate truffles that find themselves in highly acclaimed restaurants and hotels throughout the country.
This is a ground floor opportunity to work under a highly successful chocolatier; that has studied in acclaimed culinary schools of France and has won many awards for his unique creations. Joining our Chef /Chocolatier will allow the candidate to learn unique methods of working with chocolate as well as the creation of distinctive truffles.
-Actively manage and participate in all chocolate production to ensure items reflect high standards of quality, consistency, aesthetics and taste.
-Maintain an exceptional production knowledge and attention to detail with decoration and taste quality.
-Assist Chef / Chocolatier by controlling food and labor cost, as well as purchasing, receiving, purveyor lists and inventory of all kitchen items.
-Assist in recipe development by keeping abreast of the marketplace and test recipes under supervision of the Chocolatier.
-Effectively communicate with internal staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by sales and product development.
-Associate of Science or Bachelor of Science in Baking or Pastry from an accredited institution preferred, experience with chocolate is a great plus.
-Cutting edge talent for products trends and designs with a highly creative imagination in the field.
-Strong math skills. Including adjusting recipes and formulas by percentage, and scaling formulas up/down.
-Demonstrates an understanding and commitment to total quality efforts by striving for continual improvement, working cooperatively as a team member and concentrating on both internal and external customers.
-Ability to handle pressure and take direction in a demanding environment
-Most of all, a passion for Chocolate.
