Are you longing for a chance to build a great restaurant from the ground up?
Would you love to develop, teach and lead a high performing culinary team?
As the owner and operator of what will be Ithaca, New York's newest restaurant, I am looking for a culinary guru to lead my kitchen team and direct all culinary operations. My restaurant, called Booker's Backyard, will be opening in one month.
My goal is to hire a chef as soon as possible so we have time to fine tune opening menus, hire staff, polish the kitchen, and train.
Our company is a very employee centric enterprise and we focus more on the quality of our people than anything else. Our kitchen crew will have this same focus and we will commit an inordinate amount of time and energy to training and educating our staffs. The Chef will be expected to lead this charge and be a great coach, communicator, teacher, mentor and leader.
Our menus will feature All-American classics inspired by a marriage of Bourbon County cuisine and Coastal Maine backyard cooking. It's bourbon-braised short ribs or a Kentucky hot brown, flanked by vanilla poached lobster tails or our signature seafood pot pie. We will feature the same menu all day, seven days a week from 11am to 11pm, featuring a great selection of appetizers, homemade soups, crisp salads, creative sandwiches, bold entrees, and simple old fashion desserts. All prepared from scratch with fresh ingredients, contemporary techniques, and artful presentations.
As my culinary partner, it is assumed that the chef will have strong financial abilities and that food and labor costs will be managed obsessively. Equally obsessive will be our commitment to proper food safety and sanitation.
