|Position Description:||The Restaurant at Wente Vineyards in the beautiful Livermore Valley Wine Country has an exciting career opportunity for the exemplary culinary professional. The foundation of our kitchen and focus of our cooking is the utilization of seasonal, organic ingredients, procured from local farmers and producers that embrace the value of sustainability. The restaurant also has its own organic garden that produces produce for the restaurant. The restaurant recently received 3 stars for food from Michael Bauer of the San Francisco Chronicle, and its Executive Chef, Matt Greco, was named one of the Bay Area's Top 50 Best Chefs. |
The Restaurant Sous Chef position is hands-on, and under the direction of the Kitchen Management Team, is responsible for successfully directing all aspects of day-to-day culinary operations. The candidate will have prior experience in the highest quality and recognized restaurants. The ideal candidate must have high-volume experience and will have worked with the top Chefs in the industry. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience, including a proven track record of creating acclaimed cooking.
Responsibilities include providing assistance in maintaining, managing and improving systems, procedures and business processes associated with sales, quality, safety, cost, staffing and development, sanitation, inventory analysis and control, menu development, purchasing and receiving.
Assists in running the daily operation of the kitchen, including daily lunch and/or dinner service, private dining menus, special events and concerts. Works in conjuction with the Kitchen Management Team in establishing and executing kitchen policies and procedures.
