Todd Gray's Watershed, located in DC's Noma neighborhood, is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Sous Chef to join our team!
Known for his creative, "layered flavors" cuisine, Chef Gray presents fresh fish, oysters, and his celebrated hush puppies in a contemporary and comfortable ambiance adjacent to a lively bar and an expansive patio for al fresco dining. With fresh fish and seafood prepared unlike anywhere else in DC, Watershed is a destination restaurant serving lunch and dinner for Todd Gray's fans as well as a welcoming neighborhood restaurant and bar.
As Sous Chef you will be responsible for:
-Monitoring and hands-on control of daily food production.
-Training culinary staff to prepare, cook and present food according to company standards.
-Efficient operation of kitchen and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
-Food and labor cost control and effective inventory management.
What we're looking for:
-2-4 years culinary supervisory experience in an upscale establishment with a staff of 6 or more employees.
-Understanding of food and labor cost control, effective inventory management, purchasing and kitchen sanitation.
-Passion for cooking and eagerness to learn.
