|Position Description:||Premier resort-area independent boulangerie/patisserie seeks creative Pastry Chef preferably with French pastry training. PC will oversee daily operations of the pastry and bread creations. |
Plan, prep, set up and prepare quality products for an authentic French Pastry/Bake Shop to include, but not limited to pastries, desserts, breads, displays/centerpieces in accordance with quality standards and specifications. Maintain organization, cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment. Must have a flexible work schedule.
Minimum 2-3 years' experience as a Pastry Chef or Assistant Pastry Chef. Training in traditional French pastry/baking required.
High school diploma; culinary certificate preferred.
Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and utmost quality; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision.
- Technical Skills:
Ability to work well under pressure of meeting production schedules and timelines; ability to maintain good coordination; ability to transport cases of received goods to the work station; pots and pans of food from storage/prep areas to the serving line; ability to work in hot, noisy and sometimes close conditions; ability to work with all products and ingredients involved; ability to use all senses to ensure quality standards are met; ability to differentiate dates; ability to operate, clean and maintain all equipment required in job functions; ability to produce creative and artistic products; ability to plan and produce centerpiece displays and banquet trays; ability to comprehend and follow recipes; ability to expand and condense recipes; ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision; ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
