Rouge Tomate, Michelin-starred restaurant in Midtown Manhattan, is seeking an Assistant Beverage Director to help manage one of the most unique wine and cocktail programs in the city. With over 600 references and an emphasis on organic, biodynamic and natural wines, this is an incredible opportunity to learn and grow as a sommelier by tasting and selling on an every day basis unique wines from all over the world. Candidates must have a strong interest in this area of wine as well as the world of cocktails.
This is a management-level position that entails both sommelier as well as floor management responsibilities. Requirements include comfort in an upscale dining environment, strong organizational abilities, effective time management and precise attention to detail. You will be assisting with all areas of the wine program from selling on the floor to educating FOH staff. Bartending or bar management experience a major plus but not required. Certified level is a plus and personnality and passion are a must.
