CULINAIRE, a dynamic, privately-owned company headquartered in Texas, is seeking a professional and enthusiastic Executive Chef for its celebrity chef-driven restaurant -- Todd Gray's Watershed, located in the new 13 story Hilton Garden Inn on Capitol Hill. As Executive Chef you will be responsible for culinary oversight of the restaurant and hotel banquets. It's one metro stop from Union Station and one block from the New York Avenue/Florida Avenue red line.
As an Executive Chef you must be able to perform effectively in each of these areas:
-Supervising, teaching and training the kitchen personnel -Food purchasing -Menu development -Making presentations to clients -Establishing and managing food and labor cost controls to insure a profitable operation -Ensuring quality, consistency and creativity are at the highest level while maximizing the operation's personnel and resources
Our ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
-Creative and innovative culinary skills -At least 5 years management experience in multiple outlets -- both ala carte and banquets -Good safety and sanitation habits -Thorough knowledge of food handling and preparation techniques -Experience with inventory and cost controls -Good job stability and references -Culinary degree
