The San Diego Marriott Marquis and Marina located at 333 West Harbor Drive is currently hiring for a SOUS CHEF for a brand new restaurant concept opening in April. This three meal a day outlet will have 383 seats, three private dining rooms, and a wine room of over 2000 bottles. This restaurant will feature Modern Comfort Food; Sustainable Chef Crafted Food and Farm-to-Table cuisine.
Our ideal candidate will have: - Strong experience in daily kitchen operations with the ability to delegate and be hands on when needed - Fine dining experience and a higher than average culinary skill set - Solid leadership ability/maturity to handle the scope of this position - Solid business professional with exemplary customer service focus and superior associate relations skills
Responsibilities include: Accountable for overall success of the daily kitchen operations. Exhibits culinary talents by personally performing tasks while leading the staff and managing all food related functions. Works to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget. Supervises all kitchen areas to ensure a consistent, high quality product is produced. Responsible for guiding and developing staff including direct reports. Must ensure sanitation and food standards are achieved.
