|Position Description:||Great American Restaurants owns and operates eleven high volume, upscale casual restaurants in the Washington D.C. market as well as an artisan bakery, Best Buns Bread Company. |
All of the restaurants of this wildly successful privately owned company emphasize high quality, from scratch cooking in a friendly, service-oriented environment. Annual company sales exceeded $100MM in 2011 with annual unit volumes ranging from $5MM to $12MM. Selective expansion in premier locations in the Washington D.C. market is an ongoing high priority.
All levels within Great American Restaurants, from executive to management and staff members, are guided and driven daily by a mission statement and core values that focus on a never-ending and passionate pursuit of operational excellence.
We are looking for a Corporate Chef who is a culinary leader committed to outstanding food quality and growth of culinary team members
-Lead consistently high standards of food quality and operations.
-Develop culinary and leadership skills through out the kitchens.
-Work closely with the Vice President of Kitchen Operations and R&D team regarding new product and menu development.
-Impact day-to-day operations at all restaurants while developing staff.
-Identify and source new and seasonal ingredients.
-Evaluate and impact the quality, care, and morale of staff.
-Passion for cooking.
-Outstanding and unique palette as well as a distinct cooking style.
-Personality in keeping with our Food is Fun kitchen mantra.
-Desire to educate others about food and cooking.
-Stable career that shows loyalty, proven track record of results and a continuing increase in responsibilities.
-Experience leading in high volume, scratch kitchens for 8+ years.
-Formal culinary education and Spanish speaking preferred.
