Position Description:
We are hiring an Assistant General Manager at The Point, on Upper Saranac Lake, NY. Recognized as one of the top hotels in the world, the eleven-roomed Point is famous for its personalized service, exceptional food, and elegant but relaxed atmosphere.
This a great job, but very demanding, necessitating: - Strong social presence and excellent guest relations skills - Strong managerial skills - Sophistication - Fine dining/food and beverage very desirable - Luxury hotel experience highly preferred - Physical fitness, able to take guests out on hikes, boat rides, etc.
This is not a desk job. The bulk of your job will be out with the guests taking hikes, leading boat rides, mixing drinks and entertaining at cocktail hour, hosting en famille black tie dinners several nights a week. This will be a dream job to the right candidate, but the social aspect and long hours cannot be overstressed. Saranac Lake is a remote location, situated in the gorgeous six-million acre Adirondack Park, but for the outdoor lover, it's paradise.
