Position Description:
We are a small full-service fly fishing lodge on the banks of the San Juan River in northern New Mexico. We have a maximum capacity of 15 guests who are here to fish and have a good time.
We provide a hearty breakfast and pack lunches to go in the morning, and serve a four-course dinner at night. We only have one seating for dinner and all guests eat the same thing.
The menu is yours to be creative with. We ask only that it be delicious and have an attractive presentation.
You are in charge of it all: ordering, shopping, prep, service and cleanup. On nights when there are more than 6 people you will have help in the kitchen. This is basically a one man/woman show, so organization and cleanliness are a must. Clients love to chat with you about your food, so you must also be comfortable interacting with people.
We are located in a very small, rural community (about 450 people during the warm months). Days are very quiet and laid back. You must be able to entertain yourself, but there are lots of outdoor activities available such as fishing, hiking, reading, mountain biking and playing at the lake. However, you must prep for dinner and the next day's breakfast and lunch (bake bread, deserts,etc.).
In addition to your salary we provide room and board and clients are generous with tips. The season starts March 1 and ends around Thanksgiving in November.
