|Position Description:||We are seeking a Senior Sous Chef who is aspiring to become a Head Chef of a an Award Winning Fine Dining Restaurant. Do you share a passion for cooking. The ideal candidate must be able to work closely with the Chef/Owner, should demonstrate maturity to lead a small kitchen brigade and will be responsible for executing the nightly Dinner menu, ordering, stock control, rotation and monthly inventory food preparation. |
Cooking on the line required during nightly service. Proper Hygiene and sanitation procedures must be maintained at all times. The position demands creativity on a daily basis, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain the highest of culinary standards. The restaurant seats 80 and is open for dinner only 6 nights per week. The restaurant closes for annual vacation in the Autumn (September/October) for approximately 6-8 weeks.
Applicant should also work well under pressure, be organized, flexible, self-motivated, willing to work flexible schedule and all public holidays . Tuesday off.
Requirements include a minimum of 6 years working experience in a full-service, high quality restaurant experience. The ideal candidate will have Classical European training with exposure to Asian & Indian cuisine, possess a creative flair for fusion and a strong appreciation for amazing plate presentations is essential.
Culinary degree or equivalent experience is also required. The ideal candidate will have worked overseas previously under contract and able to demonstrate the maturity and dependability to commit to a 12 month contract, adjust to and work with a small multicultural kitchen brigade
Other pluses include, a positive mental attitude, well groomed, and an outgoing personality. Inventory management and operating within set cost control standards will be necessary. Computer literacy a definite asset.
