-Oversee and aid in the preparation, cooking and presentation of all food in the restaurant.
-Monitor food quality, presentation and safety standards to precisely assure they are being adhered.
-Manage and measure performance of all kitchen associates, chefs, line cooks, etc.
-Delegate duties to all chefs working in your section of the kitchen.
-Responsible for troubleshooting any issues that arise in the kitchen.
-Develop training plans for the kitchen staff and ensure all kitchen staff are properly trained on food preparation, health and safety standards and requirements, and food quality.
-May prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions.
-Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff.
-Plan menus and requisition food and kitchen supplies.
-Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs.
