Executive chef position available starting mid / late January.
2 1/2 year old Nolita 80 seat restaurant and full service bar seeks experienced Sous/Chef de Cuisine ready to make the jump. This is a great opportunity to be an exec with your neighbors DBGB, Freeman's, Public, Peasant, Saxon + Parole, Rubirosa, Torrisi.
Existing kitchen staff to remain-start with our menu and bring your creativity to develop specials and the spring menu. minimum one year commitment with contract.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years experience in a full service restaurant. Knowledge in French technique Impeccable Service Standards, good knowledge of health code with a great attention to detail; Multitask in a high volume environment Professional demeanor with all types of team members; Ability to lead a staff and develop skills in young cooks Excellent communication skills Basic Computer knowledge including Word & Excel. New York experience a must. If you do not have a food handlers certificate you will be required to get one.
Responsibilities:
Ordering Training and maintaining BOH staff Upkeep and cleanliness of the BOH Designing and creating menu items and specials Writing standardized recipes and maintaining a consistent level of quality Controlling food & labor costs
This position requires some regular shifts on the line.
