Lead Cook (Assistant Sous Chef)
The Lead Cook is the second ranking line culinary professional in a busy university dining center. We serve 3000 students/faculty per day, you are responsible for assisting and coordinating the work of the culinary team and will be expected to meet the goals of the unit. The Lead Cook will prepare a variety of menu items for service following established recipes in quantities planned in advance using a variety of cooking methods.
The Lead Cook will lead the culinary team by assigning work, evaluating quality, ensuring timely meal preparation and enforcing standards of quality and sanitation in the absence of the First Cook (sous chef). The individual will work closely with the Chef and First Cook to execute unit culinary goals including recipe development and menu enhancement.
