Oceana, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Midtown celebrating global seafood, has an opportunity for a Sous Chef with one or two year's management experience or a highly skilled line cook ready to make the next move. Join Executive Chef Ben Pollinger in a professional work environment cooking contemporary seafood rooted in classical technique.
Candidates will have at least three to five years restaurant line cooking experience, preferably in fine dining. Culinary or college degree is a plus but not required. Computer literacy is a plus.
Optimal candidates will have fine dining experience in New York City or another nationally recognized fine dining establishment. European experience is a plus.
This position will require a combination of hands-on cooking, expediting and plating. Other responsibilities include ordering of foodstuffs, supplies, and facility management.
Attention to detail, finesse and a strong commitment to kitchen organization, cleanliness and order is paramount.
