|Position Description:||Oceana, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Midtown celebrating global seafood, has an opportunity for a Sous Chef with one or two year's management experience or a highly skilled line cook ready to make the next move. Join Executive Chef Ben Pollinger in a professional work environment cooking contemporary seafood rooted in classical technique. |
Candidates will have at least three to five years restaurant line cooking experience, preferably in fine dining. Culinary or college degree is a plus but not required. Computer literacy is a plus.
Optimal candidates will have fine dining experience in New York City or another nationally recognized fine dining establishment. European experience is a plus.
This position will require a combination of hands-on cooking, expediting and plating.
Other responsibilities include ordering of foodstuffs, supplies, and facility management.
Attention to detail, finesse and a strong commitment to kitchen organization, cleanliness and order is paramount.
